RIVER
ROAD: Scope: Widening and re-aligning the roadway from Campbell to Alvernon. Installing drainage culverts, storm drains and the construction of two new traffic signals. This project includes the construction of a new bridge at the Rillito River on the new alignment. Other work includes, curb, gutter, sidewalk, paving and landscaping. · Contractor: The Ashton Company,
Inc. · Bid Amount: $16,216,153.56 · Notice to Proceed: May 16, 2005

I- Scope: The project consists of furnishing
all labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary for roadway and
drainage improvement described in the project plan. The work consists of constructing and
reconstructing a continuous 2-lane frontage road between the Canoa
Interchange and the Continental Interchange.
The total length of East Frontage Road to be built under this project
is approximately 4.6 miles. · Contractor: Borderland Construction Co. · Bid Amount: $15,000,000.00 · Notice to Proceed: June 23, 2009
· Estimated Completion Date: Fall 2010 Current Status: All lanes are open to the public. On August
3, 2009 contractor will be closing southbound I-19 off ramp for approximately
8 months. Project
Activities: Contractor
is working on retaining walls, removal of structures, clearing work, drainage
pipes, and structures on the entire project. |

Scope: The project consists of reconstructing 1.9 miles of the existing 2-lane Sunrise Drive including channelized intersections, exclusive turn lanes, slope stabilization, cross drainage facilities, storm drain, irrigated landscaping, traffic signal modifications, street lighting, striping, and signing, medians, sidewalk, and installation of public art. The project shall be completed in 325 working days. · Contractor: The Ashton Company · Bid Amount: $7,385,569. 50 · Notice to proceed: November 13, 2009 · Estimated Completion Date: Fall 2010 Current Status: All lanes open to the public utilities at work, moving their facilities, for new roadway alignment. Projected
Activities: Contractor
has mobilized and started phase I of the project. Phase I consists of traffic signals and
reconstruct of Kolb to Sunrise Intersection, along with soil nail walls, and
a large retaining wall on the North side of Sunrise. |

Status: Contractor has mobilized and
started construction. Current
Activities: Contractor
is performing cleaning, paving, and striping work. There will be traffic on
Camino Loma Alta for the next few weeks. |

Status: All lanes open to the public. Utilities at work moving their facilities
for new roadway alignment. Current
Activities:
Contractor has started to mobilize and is working on misc. temporary fence and
clearing. |

PERMIT WORK IN PROGRESS
Note: In any given month, there are between 300 and 500
permits issued for work in the public right-of-way. The permitted
projects listed above are those permits of a longer duration that impact the
traveling public on major roadways.
